Zero Waste Shopping! | My Journey to an Eco Friendly Lifestyle!

Thanks! Share it with your friends!

The recent amazon rainforest fires really inspired me to take accountability for my life, so I went on my first eco friendly shopping trip to a zero waste store called Sustain LA. I want to have a positive impact on the planet and while a zero waste lifestyle might sound extreme and scary… it doesn’t have to be an “all or nothing” situation. I’m not claiming to be zero waste, but I am making the commitment to cut back and make shifts and changes! I’m new to this, so if you have any friendly suggestions, I would love for you to leave any tips in the comments!

I love this video and I totally support you, the reason is that I've been watching zero waste videos for a while now and you are the very first one that is not going crazy and extreme with this lifestyle. But you are simply proposing valid solutions to a really huge problem.

Thank you for including pricing most vlogger don't. That is very attainable!

Let's wake up our World to make it better!!!!! Sincere Hugs

I just really wanted to say thank you for being one of the reasons I finally cultivated the confidence to upload my first video! It means the world to me 🙂

I do Plants says:

Yes and thank you! Also, second hand clothes, plastic bags from grocery shopping, composting… so many ways .. It's great that at some point we can all start doing something… it doesn't need to be perfect, just thoughtful…

Ashish Trehan says:

you should also think about making a lot of these items like all-purpose cleaner. But yeah its definitely journey. I started 5 months ago by not using any single-use plastic. But keep it up!

Sinem Pacaci says:

So inspiring. I have just looked it up, and found a very similar store where I live in Brisbane Australia. Anyone whose interested and live in Brisbane you can look up the store https://www.biome.com.au/

Rorelse says:

My country has one zero waste store (only online with delivery and very small selection) and no bulk stores at all, some places have a lot of catching up to do. 2018 July they only finally got to no longer giving free plastic bags in supermarkets so that's something. I'd love to live more eco-friendly but unfortunately in some areas it's very hard to do 🙁

angesoie says:

also, i've tried a few brands of toothpaste tabs (lush, etc.) and bite toothpaste tabs have been my favorites (they're not chalky)

angesoie says:

you should download ecosia for your internet browser!

This is such an important video! It’s SO important for more non-“zero waste” content creators to publicly join the movement even if they are only making simple changes! Anyways great video thank you for sharing!! 🥰

Celia Johnson says:

Buying from amazon is also part of the problem! If you buy zero waste, look for small businesses (like the one you shopped at!) looking to actually make a difference! 🤗

Lauren J says:

I love this! This sort of thing is right up my alley. I'm not sure if any stores like this are in my area but I'm definitely going to go look. I do live in a big city (Sydney) so hopefully there should be something similar! I love the mindset you have – better choices where you can, but don't beat yourself up where you can't. It all helps, even the little things 🙂
