I went to a restaurant here in Germany where they used straws that were made out of noodles (you know these long ones with a hole in the middle). You could not taste that it was not plastic but noodles. And the best thing: you could eat it at the end! No waste and no plastic! That would be a great alternative for restaurants

Meanwhile, 46% of ocean debris is abandoned fishing equipment.

So if you want to be trendy boycott straws.
If you want to save the ocean boycott fish.

tip: switch out plastic toothbrushes for bamboo toothbrushes :)) they’re eco-friendly, inexpensive and great for your gums

I'm still in middle school and I love how my friends are handling the whole plastic straw and turtles situation. We have silverware (that's actually plastic) that have straws and my friends literally throw the packets on the ground and stomp on them and scream "SAVE THE TURTLES!!" Some of us use foldable metal straws in a little case, it's great.
