Around the globe there is an increasing interest in what is termed sustainable living. The Moora Moora community in the hills east of Melbourne prides itself on sustainable living. Let’s take a look at their annual festival:

Alfonzo the clown keeps everyone amused with “oops” the disappearing balloon trick.
On show are informative stalls and inspiring displays .Tours of the more than thirty alternative homes and support systems take place all day long. Other tours wander through the organic gardens.
Many people are buying lunch from the veggie burger man.

“Eat a veggie burger; and save a cow.”

Recycling waste materials is important up here and the Plastic Bag Man makes a useful scarecrow.
At the wild life rescue stall you can find out what to do with injured Australian wildlife.
Here we see how the techniques of the blacksmith are used for making items for the home. An electric bicycle is the feature item at this stall.
In amongst the trees is a healing village where various healing methods are shown.
Throughout the day visitors are sitting on hay bales, sipping organic coffee or cool drinks while enjoying the musical entertainment.
At the Petals of Peace stall they’re making origami paper lotus flowers to symbolise peace and harmony.
The entertainment will continue into the night, but the last laugh belongs to Alfonzo.
